August 2013 Diet Journal
On August 1st, after I had already eaten around 2000 calories, my daughter brought me a foot long chili dog, at about 8:00 at night; and I decided to eat the entire dog and brownies, as well.
TH 1 - *3900 - 189.8 (Notice how much I overate once I finally got below 190 pounds!)

OBSERVATIONS:
I ate way too much of Bobby's and Ramona's birthday cakes. I finally had to give away four slices of cake to Sis's fam.
If anything can be said about my diet of the last eight months, it is probably that I am on a diet of 1900 calories or less per day. Anything more than that greatly reduces my weight loss.
My exercise was almost nill for most days this month. No walking and no exercise-bike-riding mean very, very SLOW weight loss. Add all those calories I consumed to this inactivity, and you can easily see why the weight hovered around 190 for most of the month.
However, it hit 186 as the month ended, continuing to CREEP downward.
But, hey, I started this year at 213 pounds. Anyway you look at that scale, my weight is still down from there!
213 minus 186 is 27 pounds. I have lost 27 pounds in 8 months. That is 27 pounds that I will never gain back, because I will stay on top of the eating thing 'till the day I die.

Diet Journal - July 15 - 31, 2013
Diet Diary
I didn't keep a food log for two weeks, because I thought it was kinda' stupid.
But then whenever it seemed I was stuck on one weight, I could not see how many calories I'd eaten, which would have clarified the reasons why I wasn't losing anymore weight.
Consequently, I picked the process back up, starting in mid-July, 2013.
Day July Calories & Weight
MO 15 - 2150 - 192.6
TU 16 - 1450 - 192.8
WE 17 - 1150 - 192.2
TH 18 - 2330 - 192.6
FR 19 - 1200 - 192.2
SA 20 - 1600 - 191.4
SU 21 - 1600 - 192.8
MO 22 - 1800 - 192.8
TU 23 - 1800 - 193 (Notice my weight went up, possibly due to salty foods!)
WE 24 - 2400 - 193.6
TH 25 - 1500 - 192
FR 26 - 1700 - 191.4
SA 27 - 1450 - 190.6
SU 28 - 1750 - 189.8
MO 29 - 1650 - 191.4
TU 30 - 2100 - 190.0
WE 31 - 1550 - 191.6
TH AUG 1 - 189.8
So my net loss for 2 weeks was only a little less than two pounds. But when you look at the number of calories I consumed, you can see WHY the weight loss was so slow.
Nevertheless, this weight loss is fairly consistent with my steadily losing THREE pounds each month since New Year's Day. Weight on January 1, 2013, was 213 pounds. Weight on August 1, 2013 was 189.8 pounds.

Eating More Food as My Reward for Weight Loss
August 10, 2013
Yeah, I still have these destructive habits!
When I hit 188 pounds -- my lowest weight in a dozen years -- I rewarded myself with a late night extra meal that included a foot-long chili cheese dog. I ate over three thousand calories that day.
I made that same mistake a week or so later, eating cake for two days, and Little Debbies, and cookies.
Weighing 190 today, I'm still up a pound and a half from my lowest weight of 188.6.
Nevertheless, I shall not be moved.
My goal for the year was to WRITE DOWN everything that went into my mouth. Now, over seven months later, I'm still keeping track of the calories I feed my belly.
On New Year's Day, I weighed 213; so even with the one-pound weight gain, I am still down 23 pounds this year.
Down it creeps. Step by step, pound by pound. Slowly I am turning back into this skinny woman I haven't seen for decades.
